Here is an absolutely delicious dessert/snack using rava and mango pulp. I was blog hopping for a mango cake recipe and found this one and the simplicity forced me to try this out Tada…It was out of this world and I must say, it is one of the easiest cakes that you can make with less hassle. It has a texture like cake but can be categorized as halwa too..Enjoy!!!
Rava/Semolina 1 cup (I used unroasted)
Mango pulp 1 cup
Butter ½ cup, melted
Sugar ½ cup
Baking powder 1 tsp
Pre heat oven at 375 F.
In a bowl, mix together rava with sugar and baking powder. Add the melted butter and mix well. Next add the mango pulp, mix well and set aside for 10 minutes. Grease 4 ramekins or a 6 inch baking pan with butter. Add the batter to ¾ full and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Keep an eye on the halwa from about 25 minutes or so as we want it to be cooked perfect and over baking can cause toughness. Mine was done in 30 minutes exact. Take the halwa out and cool for 5 minutes. Flip on to serving plates or you can serve in the ramekins itself.
